Edit your emails

Choose an email and edit its text

Email to you is your enquiry notification. Email to enquirer is their confirmation. Each has its own subject and message body.

In the email editor, click the subject or message in the preview to open its Properties. These appear beside the preview on wide screens and below it on small screens. Type plain text; pasted text does not keep rich formatting.

From, To and Reply-To are fixed by DoBu.uk. Editing a template does not change delivery addresses. The preview has no send action.

Put the selected event date in the subject

Click the subject, then place the cursor in its text box. Press + beside Enquiry date. This inserts the event date selected by the visitor, not the date the email is sent.

Click the inserted pill to choose a date format. For example, a subject containing “Enquiry for” followed by the date field could read “Enquiry for 12 September 2026”. The date changes for each enquiry; you do not need to type it yourself.

The same steps insert a name or an answer from your form. Dragging a field into the text is another option.

Use a pill’s × to remove it. If missing, use supplies fallback text for an empty answer. Body text can include all enquiry details; the private enquiry link is available only in the email to you.

Tab reaches buttons, Enter activates them, and Ctrl+Z (or Command+Z) undoes text or field edits.

Check and publish

Open Example enquiry values in the editor to try different dates, names and answers. Check both recipients, empty names and long answers before publishing. These values let you check the result without sending an email; they are not saved as part of your template.

Save drafts, then publish

In your account’s email editor, changes save automatically as a draft. Keep typing while saving. When the draft has finished saving, choose Publish templates to use it for future enquiries. Publishing your form does not publish email templates.

If offline, keep the tab open: the editor retries after reconnecting. It keeps a recovery copy in this tab where possible and warns if it cannot. If another tab changed the draft, choose which version to keep before continuing.

Restore defaults replaces the draft with the original templates. Discard changes restores the published templates. Both ask for confirmation and save the resulting draft; neither publishes it.
